About Me

I'm Vineet Likhar, a full-stack JavaScript engineer with a strong backend focus. I thrive on designing robust APIs, event-driven architectures, and cloud-native systems that are built to last.

My day-to-day spans NestJS & Express on the server, React on the client, and Kafka, Redis, Postgres & MongoDB in the data layer — all glued together with Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS.

I care deeply about code quality, testing (Jest, k6), and developer experience. When I'm not shipping features, I'm exploring tooling like Cursor and Claude Code to stay at the cutting edge of AI-assisted development.

  • System architecture: Architected and delivered 3+ end-to-end backend systems, translating research and business requirements into scalable designs using Python, Flask, FastAPI, and REST APIs.
  • API development: Built and owned 10+ production RESTful endpoints with Flask/FastAPI, PostgreSQL for persistence, and Redis for caching and ephemeral data (24-hour TTL), supporting 100+ active users.
  • DevOps & cloud: Deployed services on AWS with Docker, Terraform (IaC), and GitHub Actions for multi-environment CI/CD — improving deployment reliability and observability.
  • Collaboration: Worked with a cross-functional team of 6 engineers, researchers, and analysts on backend features and maintainable UI/API integration.

  • Microservices: Designed and deployed 4 production microservices with NestJS (TypeScript), scaling invoice-processing pipelines to 10K+ documents per month.

  • Observability: Resolved 20+ recurring production issues using Prometheus, Grafana, and structured logging — improving uptime and quality for user-facing features.

  • AI integration: Interview prep platform using OpenAI APIs for personalized technical questions and response evaluation with spaced-repetition logic.
  • Backend architecture: REST APIs with Node.js, Express, and MongoDB; JWT auth, Redis-backed chat storage, rate limiting, and Winston logging.
  • Infrastructure: Dockerized the app; secure uploads via Cloudinary and transactional email with Resend.
